Arnaldo Eris de Baião , was the son of D.Ero Arualdes de Baião and Uzenda Eris Godosindes de Lugo/Galícia. He was the grandson of Dom Arnaldo de Espoleto (first lord of Baião, known as D.Arnaldo de Baião), and of D.Ermesenda Eris Fernandes of Lugo/Galicia, Spain, and great-grandson of Dom Guido II, Duke of Espoleto, Emperor of Italy . His grandfather and namesake landed in the current city of Porto at the end of the 9th century, coming to Portugal with his relatives, from Spain and Italy, to fight the Moors and, due to his bravery, the king of the Kingdom of Leon granted him the lands that are still called Baião e Azevedo, a municipality in the District of Porto , Portugal.
